Why 3rdPLACE?

In recent years, the Internet has revealed the centrality of mankind's social orientation.

Factors such as the development of broadband, the production of increasingly capacious storage systems, the diversification of publishing platforms and knowledge access points and the extension of these changes on a global scale have amplified this characteristic, giving people an element of social awareness that has never been seen before.

We believe that every company must prepare itself for growth by implementing new ways of relating with people, by seeking to create channels for dialogue, conversation and sharing in an open and transparent context that allows the identification of new models for the distribution of its services in the market of reference.

We believe that, once a company embarks on this path, there is no turning back and that, without doubt, it leads to a 3rdPLACE.

Third Place is an expression coined in the 1980s by an American sociologist, Ray Oldenburg, to identify a context with strong social ties between persons.

If, in fact, the "first Places" are each persons home environment and the "second places" are the workplace, then Oldenburg comes to our aid with "third places" to identify the typical social dimension of environments where persons come together in a community to share their experiences in good company.

The Internet is changing a lot of things.

The attitudes of people towards interaction and social life (even) on the web, has stimulated the adoption (and, thus, the development) of new technologies and new forms of communication. The complexity of digital platforms, the diversity of knowledge access points and the development of very sophisticated tracking technologies make it possible to support people in their multiple consumption patterns and develop business strategies for covering these channels and implementing new forms of dialogue with consumer-users.

Today, the ease with which technology allows interaction has radically changed our ways of communicating. The main vehicle of this change is the Internet itself, which has become a real "Third Place", where persons connect with friends, listen to music and forge personal and business bonds. The convergence of all media (radio, TV, print) towards digital channels (web and mobile) has accelerated this process.

In fact, the new digital tools have completely eliminated the distance between the virtual and real worlds and the Internet has crossed the boundaries that were originally drawn around it, to become a place where real things happen, where persons get information, socialise and buy products and services, creating value.

For this reason, the furnishing and visiting of the virtual "Third Place" must be an essential element of the strategies of companies that want to increase their business by entering into relationships and promoting conversations with people to achieve real success.
